Helping Landowners Achieve Their Land Management Goals

About Upper Nueces Frio SWCD #238

Our Mission

Texas has over 200 Soil & Water Conservation Districts managing a variety of local conservation activities across the state. Our purpose is to install in the minds of local people that it is their individual responsibility to do the job of soil and water conservation. As independent political bodies, SWCDs communicate with state and federal agencies through the Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB). Their mission is to work in conjunction with local SWCDs to encourage the wise and productive use of natural resources. It is our goal to ensure the availability of those resources for future generations, so that all Texans’ present and future needs can be met in a manner that promotes a clean, healthy environment and strong economic growth.
